Chamba Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal has issued new orders under the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 to regulate traffic and designate parking zones in Chamba town. Specific parking areas have been identified, including Zero Point in Hardaspur, in front of the Radha-Krishna Temple at Julahkhadi, near the Rajiv Gandhi Complex, and in Chougan Bazaar.

At the Chamba Chougan's Millennium Gate, space has been designated for up to nine taxis. Vehicles can park for up to 30 minutes within the yellow line on the road leading to the hospital from the main square.

Parking is prohibited behind the court complex from 10 am to 4 pm, except for government vehicles, which must park within yellow lines. Near Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, three government vehicles, three taxis and two ambulances are permitted to park, with remaining space reserved for patient attendants. In front of the SDM office, parking is restricted to government and office staff vehicles, with short-term parking allowed for visitors.

The DC stated that additional parking areas will be notified as needed, in consultation with the Superintendent of Police, Chamba SDM and the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council. Public roads will remain no-parking zones unless otherwise specified.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, the authorities will strictly enforce bus stop regulations. Designated spaces for passengers to board and alight will be marked by the SDM and other officers. Loading and unloading of vehicles in Chamba will be permitted between 11 am and 6 pm, and 8 pm to 8 am.

One-way traffic routes have also been introduced on roads such as Sultanpur to Postgraduate College Chamba and Sapri to Dogra Bazaar. Emergency vehicles will be allowed access on restricted roads.

The new traffic and parking regulations are intended to ease congestion and improve public convenience in Chamba. The orders will take immediate effect and remain in force until further notice. Concerned officials have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with these regulations.
