A team from the Union Ministry of Water Resources collected data regarding natural water bodies today. DC, Kangra, Hemraj Bairwa said that the technical team of the Central Government conducted a pilot test of a mobile application and its portal for collecting data on natural water sources at Bhagsunag (waterfall), Dharamkot (Dal Lake) and Jul (kuhl) in Dharamsala.

Bairwa said that the objective of testing was to see minor irrigation schemes, water bodies, large and medium irrigation schemes and natural water sources and assess their current status. This would help in implementing programmes for the management of local water resources so that their usage could be improved. He said that the suggestions given by the technical team and the resolution of errors, if any, would improve the chances of success of these schemes in future.
