Upgrade Tanda Medical College to PGI

The demand to elevate the Doctor Rajendra Hospital, Tanda, to a Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is a pressing one for the residents of the region, especially for patients who currently have to travel long distances to IGMC, Shimla, and PGI, Chandigarh, for medical care. Upgrading the hospital to a PGI would not only improve healthcare accessibility but also provide much-needed relief to people of Chamba and Kangra districts, who frequently rely on this facility. This initiative has the potential to serve as a beacon of hope for the people, ensuring that advanced medical treatments and specialised care are available closer to home.

Littering in Shimla’s forested areas

Garbage, mainly plastic waste such as plastic water bottles, packets and wrappers of edible items, are being thrown in forested areas adjoining roads of Shimla, spoiling the beauty of the forests and polluting the environment. The authorities should take strict measures to discourage people from continuing this practice.
