Cake, samosas for CM, trouble for CID personnel
Serving refreshment (samosas and cake) meant for Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to his staff has landed a few CID personnel in trouble. A probe was ordered into the lapse and the personnel involved were accused of acting in an "anti-government" and "anti-CID" manner in a report filed in the case.
The incident happened on October 21 when the Chief Minister visited the CID office. The IGP had directed a Sub Inspector to order some refreshment for the Chief Minister from a hotel.
As per the order, snacks were brought in three packed boxes to the CID office. The Sub Inspector handed over the boxes to a woman Inspector, who was not aware that they were meant for the Chief Minister. She directed two police personnel to hand over the boxes to the MT Section after the Tourism employees claimed that the refreshment was not in the menu. Eventually, the refreshment was served to the staff accompanying the Chief Minister.
When the lapse came to light, a probe was ordered. The probe concluded that all personnel named in the inquiry had acted in an 'anti-CID' and 'anti-government' manner.
