Digital banking offers immense convenience, but users must remain vigilant against scams, cautioned Shiv Kumar Yadav, Ombudsman of the Reserve Bank of India, during a programme at the Block Development Office in Tauni Devi on Thursday. The event was organized under the Reserve Bank-Integrated Ombudsman Scheme-2021. Yadav emphasised that despite its benefits, the rise in digital fraud cases requires consumers to adopt safety measures. He noted that even educated individuals are falling prey to scams and highlighted consumer rights and various banking schemes. Deputy Ombudsman Anil Pandotra and Ombudsman Officer Devendra Kumar educated attendees on the Reserve Bank-Integrated Lokpal Scheme-2021 and how to resolve banking issues. Ajay Kumar Katana, Director of Punjab National Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), detailed the institute's activities supporting rural employment. Chief Manager PNB Sanjay Dhiman, Panchayat Pradhan Ravindra Thakur, District Lead Bank Manager Nikhil Sharma, and Financial Literacy Advisor GC Bhatti also participated. The programme aimed to empower citizens with knowledge on digital banking, ensuring both convenience and security.
