Blood donation camp held on World Pharmacists Day
A blood donation camp was organised at the APG Shimla University to commemorate World Pharmacists Day here today.
The School of Pharmacy, APG Shimla University, organised the blood donation camp on the campus. The event was inaugurated by Chancellor Suman Vikrant and Pro-Chancellor Dr Ramesh Chauhan. University Registrar Dr Ankit Thakur and Dean of Academics Dr Anand Mohan Sharma were also present on the occasion and thanked the donors for their participation in this noble cause.
The blood donation camp saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, staff members and local residents. The camp was organised in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla. A total of 52 units of blood was collected during the camp.
Doctors highlighted that regular blood donation improves heart health, reduces the risk of heart diseases and strokes and helps in regulating excess iron levels in the body, contributing to overall cardiovascular wellness. The Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the School of Pharmacy for organising the event and extended their best wishes on World Pharmacists Day.
