BJP protests unemployment among youth
BJP legislators led by Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today protested at the Assembly complex at Dharamsala over the issue of unemployment among the youth.
The BJP legislators held the protest before the start of the session carrying placards and raising slogans against the government.
Thakur, while talking to newsmen later, said that the Congress, before the 2022 Assembly elections, had promised one lakh jobs to the youth of the state every year and five lakh jobs in five years. However, the state government, in the past two years, had instead snatched jobs from the youth. “The government has abolished over one lakh posts in various departments lying vacant for the past three years. The government has sealed job opportunities for the youth in the state,” he added.
He alleged that the government had sacked about 10,000 youth, who were recruited by the previous BJP government on the outsourced basis. Many industries were winding up and the youth were losing jobs in the private sector as well. Thakur said, “To add to the woes of the unemployed youth, the government has decided to recruit guest teachers, which will lead to exploitation.”
