BJP legislators, led by Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, today held a protest at the Assembly complex here over the jungli murga controversy surrounding Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The BJP legislators carrying cut-outs of a jungli murga (red wildfowl) raised slogans, “Jungli Murga Kisne Khaya” and demanded the registration of a case for the violation of the Wildlife Protection Act.
Thakur, while talking to newsmen, said that it was unfortunate that instead of instituting an inquiry to find out who was responsible for the violation of the Wildlife Protection Act at the Chief Minister’s function, the government was getting cases registered against BJP legislators and media houses.
