Benefits of govt schemes reaching last person: Goma
Ayush, Youth Services and Sports Minister Yadvinder Goma today laid the foundation stone of the Junior Engineer (JE) Electricity Board office building to be constructed at Jalag in his Assembly constituency, Jaisinghpur. The office would be constructed at a cost of Rs 28 lakh. He directed the department to complete the work of the office building before March 31.
Addressing a public meeting at Jalag village, Goma said the sub-division office of the electricity board would be established here. He said Jalag was a major place in the Jaisinghpur Assembly constituency and fulfilling the demands of the people here and providing basic facilities to them was his priority. He said high-mast solar lights had been installed at the Jalag ground and funds would be provided from the Youth Services and Sports Department for the beautification of the ground.
He said work had been done on all roads connecting Jalag so that people could get better facilities. The tarring of the road up to Jalag Aarth Patt would be done in the next season and funds would be given through National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) for connecting it up to Suan and for the widening of the road. The construction of the Bhatwara Nanded road would also be done under Nabard, he said.
Goma congratulated the people present on the completion of two years of the government and said under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the work of providing the benefits of government schemes to the last person in the state had been done.
He said the state government had completed five guarantees in two years out of the 10 guarantees given to people. About 1.36 lakh employees of the state had been provided social security along with the benefit of old pension. Eligible women in the state are being given Rs 1,500 per month in a phased manner under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana. In order to strengthen the farmers and cattle rearers of the state economically, support price had been fixed on milk in addition to maize and wheat. A milk processing plant is being set up at Dhagwar in Kangra district at a cost of Rs 250 crore, Goma said.
The minister thanked Rakesh, a resident of Jaleb village, for donating his land for the office of Junior Engineer of Electricity Board and ordered the board officials to install a plate for him too after the construction of the building so that people also get inspired.
