Prakash Kumar, son of an auto-rickshaw driver from Kullu, has topped the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) 10+2 Board examination scoring 99.4 per cent marks in science stream (497/500) marks.
While talking to The Tribune on phone, Prakash said he wanted to become an IAS officer. “I will do graduation in science and take coaching for the IAS examination. Becoming an IAS officer is my dream and I want to make my parents and school proud. I had worked very hard for the 10+2 board examinations but had never expected that I would top. I am very happy that I have made my school proud,” said a beaming Prakash.
Prakash belongs to tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti and was a student of Kullu Science School of Education, Dhalpur.
Chairman of the school management committee Mohan Kapoor said Prakash had done both Lahual and Spiti and Kullu districts proud. He has scored the highest marks ever in the science stream in the history of HPBSE. Despite his humble background he had achieved the feat and would be a role model for other students of the school, he said.
