In a significant effort to shape the bright future of the hardworking youth in the remote and tribal regions of Himachal Pradesh, the Tri-Peak Infantry Brigade, under the Central Command of the Indian Army, ‘Lucknow and North India’ sector, held the ‘Pride of Spiti’ programme. The programme, an exceptional initiative by Surya Command, was designed to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of education. It particularly focused on encouraging students, especially from an area largely dependent on horticulture and animal husbandry, to develop an interest in education and literature.

The Tri-Peak Hills also organized career counseling sessions for the youth as part of the program. Dikit, a teacher from the government school in Kaza and the first female graduate from Spiti, shared her thoughts and inspired the students. Additionally, Shaurya Chakra awardee and honorary captain C.N. Bodh, a renowned mountaineer, and local teacher Chhering Dorje shared their experiences to boost the morale of the students.
