Anti-corruption event kicks off
The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau yesterday kicked off Vigilance Awareness Week under the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity”.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Satwant Atwal Trivedi conducted an oath ceremony on the occasion.
She was the chief guest at the event, and witnessed police personnel perform a street play at the open air theatre at the Ridge.
She said, as in previous years, the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau was organising the programme, under which various activities had been planned at different levels within the department. The weeklong event aimed not only to raise public awareness about corruption, but also to provide information on strategies to combat it, she added.
She appealed the people to share any kind of information regarding corruption by informing the authorities concerned on the toll-free number 2629893-1064, noting that people could also contact the bureau by dialling 0177-2623061.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, in his address, said people would not only be made aware about corruption with various activities but would also be provided with solutions and ways to deal with corruption.
