Admn & media are deeply connected: Hamirpur DC
On the occasion of National Press Day, Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh today said there was a very deep connection between administration and media, and role of media was very important in taking the various schemes, programmes and campaigns of the government to the people.

Addressing mediapersons at an event organised by the District Public Relations Office, the DC said the government and the administration received feedback regarding the implementation of schemes and programmes through the media. It was because of the media that public problems came to the notice of the administration, he added. The DC said healthy and positive criticism based on facts strengthened the roots of democracy.
SP Bhagat Singh Thakur said independent media acts was a very important link in democracy.
Praising mediapersons of the district, the SP added that the police had been getting the full support of the media in anti-drug campaigns and other awareness programmes.
At the event, journalists also expressed their views on the changing form of the press.
The District Public Relations Officer expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, SP, other officers and mediapersons. ADM Rahul Chauhan and SDM Sanjit Singh were among those present at the event.
