5-day yoga camp ends at Dharwas

The Art of Living, under its Himalaya Unnati Mission, organised a five-day yoga camp at Dharwas, Pangi subdivision, in Chamba district from November 10 to November 15.

The camp was conducted by Sushmita Sen, a yoga instructor from the Sri Sri Yoga School, with witnessed the participation of 26 local community members. Participants explored the significance of yoga, pranayama and meditation for a healthy lifestyle.

The primary objective of the camp was to inspire the local community towards adopting a healthier way of life while enhancing their physical and mental wellbeing.

Attendees were trained in various yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques, which contributed to improved physical balance, stress management and self-reflection. The programme not only equipped participants with tools for better health, but also motivated them to embrace a positive outlook on life.

Suraj Prakash, community coordinator, Himalaya Unnati Mission, highlighted other developmental initiatives undertaken at Dharwas, including the Smart Schools Initiative, socio-cultural programmes and livelihood generation schemes.

These initiatives aim to promote education, culture and economic stability, providing the local community with sustainable opportunities for a better future.

Such activities played a vital role in fostering awareness and development in rural areas, he said.

Area residents appreciated the initiative, with some stating that such yoga camps were beneficial for their health, and rejuvenated their spirits. Participants expressed gratitude to the Himalaya Unnati Mission and the Model Landscape Development Programme, calling for such activities to be organised regularly in future.

Manuj Sharma, media coordinator, Art of Living (Chamba Chapter), noted that such training camps not only connected people with healthier lifestyles but also contributed significantly to preserving valuable wellness traditions.
