Three local youths, who were stuck in a forest near Malana after a bridge was washed away due to a cloudburst in the area on July 31 night, were brought to Kasol by a private rescue company yesterday.
Chhape Ram Negi, chief rescue officer of Negi Brothers Team, said Bobby (16) of Chauhki village and Gagan (18) and Naveen (19) of Chhainur village had gone for trekking towards Deoropa on July 30 and they were stuck in a forest near Malana.
Negi said they tried to descend via Rasol trek route, but lost way. “Their ration supplies had exhausted and they approached us for help. The rescue operation was started on Tuesday along with the police and the trio was safely brought back to Kasol yesterday,” he added.
Negi has been involved in many rescue operations, especially in the Parvati valley. He has also been engaged by the embassy of Israel to carry out any rescue involving it nationals, as a good number of Israelis stay in the Parvati valley, especially at Kasol village.
Negi had also assisted the rescue of 29 persons who were marooned on a hill and four persons stranded inside a tunnel of a hydel power project in Malana after its barrage gave way due to a cloudburst recently.
