Under the National Ashwagandha Campaign, a drive has been started to make people aware of the medicinal properties of ashwagandha.

In this series, so far, about 12,000 ashwagandha plants have been distributed in 7 subdivisions of the Ayush Department under Kangra district.

Goma said under the leadership of CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the government was taking welfare decisions keeping in mind the interests of the poor. Work was being done to ensure that the schemes reach every person at the village level, he added. He said Rs 5 lakh had been released as the first instalment for the construction of the Bhuana Ayurvedic dispensary building, which would be ready within a year.

He added that a regular doctor had been posted at the Primary Health Centre, Bhuana, and blood test facility had also been started.

An X-ray machine would soon be made available here for the convenience of the people, he added.
