The higher hills of Himachal Pradesh witnessed light snowfall, thus bringing down the mercury in these areas by a few notches.

Light snowfall and rainfall occurred in isolated areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti district on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperature in Shimla was 23°C while in Dharamsala it was 29.2°C. Similarly, the maximum temperature in Manali was 23°C, Solan 29°C, Mandi 29.9°C, Nahan 28.2°C, Kangra 30.8°C, Bilaspur 33°C, Bhuntar 30.6°C and in Kalpa it was 18.8°C.

With 34.6°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest as it recorded 1.7°C minimum temperature.

As per the Meteorological Department, the weather across the state will remain dry till October 16.
