Health Dept to conduct TB eradication drive in Hamirpur dist
The Health Department is set to conduct a tuberculosis (TB) eradication drive in all 248 gram panchayats of the district. This was stated by Chief Medical Officer Dr Praveen Chaudhary while addressing review meeting on TB control here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMO said efforts were being made to make the district a TB-free district.
He stressed on making TB forums more active and effective in all gram panchayats.
He said ASHA workers, health service providers, panchayat representatives and block medical officers needed to make continuous efforts in their respective areas.
Only collective efforts of all sections would result in making the district a TB-free district, he added.
Chaudhary said a 100-day TB eradication drive would start from December 7 across the state. It was important to identify potential and high-risk individuals, and ensure that their testing was done at the earliest, he added. He said early identification would help in controlling the spread of TB.
