Hazel Chauhan has won the championship bowl (handicap 0-30) with a score of 223 of the 30th Punjab Ladies Golf Championship that concluded at Chandigarh Golf Club today.

Henaaz Khera (229) finished second and Diya Brar (230) third. Punam Kalra won the Neelu Chopra Cup with a score of 214. In the Bajwa Cup (0-18 handicap Gold Division) Hazel (223) and Ananya Kapoor (242) claimed the top two positions, while Punam (214) won Silver Salver and Shikha Meelu (215) claimed second position.

In the silver bowl (19-25 silver division), Jaspreet Kaur (284) and Gargee Vidhyarthi (290) won the top two positions in the gross event, while in the NETT event, Swtantar Ratia (222) and Aashna Monga (229) finished first and second. Abha Jain (295) won the gross event of bronze plate (26-30 handicap), followed by Ekta Wadhwa (317) in second position. In the NETT category, Neetha Gilganchi (221) and Sri Laxsmi (241) claimed the top two positions.

In the gross (U-12) subjunior trophy, Ojaswini Saraswat (154) and Rabab Kahlon (159) claimed first two positions, and in the U-18 category, Henaaz (153) and Diya Brar (153) bagged medals. Pauline JM Singh (178) won the 60+ gross (senior challenge), while in the NETT event, Abha (145) and Sunita Kattarya (148) won the top two positions. The Pali Sukerchakia Cup was won by S Ratia (192), while in the NETT event, Binny Bath (158) claimed top position.

In the closest-to-the-pin event, (hole No. 8), Ojaswini Saraswat, Manjit Kaur and Neelam Garg claimed the top three positions, respectively. In the longest drive event, Charvi Vaid (240 yards), Harshdeep Kaur (165 yards) and Ginny Ghuman (145 yard) claimed medals.

Biren Negi claimed the straightest drive event, while Rupinder Randhawa claimed the second position. Harinder Chahal claimed the third position. Sunitya Kattaria (34 points) and Meenashi Shiv Kumar (29 points) won the stableford for not making a cut tombstone.

The overall winner, Hazel Chauhan has been playing on these greens since she started as a subjunior golfer. She has done the Chandigarh golf club proud and proved once again that this prestigious club is a nursery for young golfers. She is followed by fellow golfers Henaaz Khera and Diya Brar at second and third position, respectively. For players who didn’t make the cut after two days, a stableford competition was organised.
