The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), will give its 85 acres of land and 27 ponds on lease to private persons in order to increase its income.

The ponds will be given on lease for two years and leaseholders can do fish farming and other works in these ponds.

However, the land will be given on lease for about six months. Agriculture and other works can be done on the said land.

The ponds and the land will be leased out through bidding after depositing the security amount between December 2 and December 18.

“The vacant land of the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, will be given on lease for six months and ponds for two years,” said Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha.

Ajay Walia, Regional Taxation Officer of the MCYJ, said three acres and four kanal land and two ponds would be auctioned at Government School, Farkpur, on December 2. On the same day (December 2), three acres, four kanal and six marla land and one pond would be auctioned at Government School, Raipur.

He said one pond and seven kanal land would be auctioned at Government School, Bhagwangarh, on December 3. About 20 acres of land would be auctioned at Government School, Mubarakpur, on the same day (December 3).

He said the process of auctioning of land and ponds would continue till December 18.

Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said before bidding, bidders would have to deposit the security money of the land and ponds.

“The security amount of unsuccessful bidders will be returned,” said Sinha.

“We will give these properties on lease to increase the income of the MCYJ so that more development works can be carried out,” said Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha. He said development works were being carried out on a war-footing in the area falling under the MCYJ.
