Jindal South West (JSW) Arena Wrestling Competition was inaugurated in the multipurpose hall located at the Giri Centre of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) here on Thursday. Vice-Chancellor Prof BR Kamboj was the chief guest at the event.

Prof Kamboj, while addressing the players, said participation in competitions gives players an opportunity to showcase their talent. Sports competitions also lead to physical, mental and spiritual development, besides strengthening the sense of discipline and brotherhood among the players, he said.

The JSW is organising a talent hunt competition for emerging wrestling players in the arenas located in Hisar district. Female players from various arenas are participating in this competition, with six weight categories — 45 kg, 50 kg, 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg and above 65 kg.

OSD to VC Dr Atul Dhingra, Student Welfare Director Dr Madan Khichad, Media Advisor Dr Sandeep Arya, SAI Additional Director VK Manchanda, senior wrestling coach Rajesh and boxing coach Rajesh were present on this occasion.
