Workshop on atom electron at Guru Jambheshwar varsity in Hisar
A workshop on 'Atom Electron and Atom Collision and Traps' was organised by the Department of Physics, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar. Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor of the university was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop.
Prof Nigel Mesan of Kent University, UK, and Dr Sugam Kumar, Senior Scientist of IUAC, New Delhi, were present as speakers at the workshop. Prof Ashish Aggarwal, chairperson, and Dr David Joseph, teacher of the department and convener of the workshop, were present on the occasion.
Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi said in his address that atomic and molecular physics were emerging areas of the current science area. There were immense possibilities of employment along with research and teaching in these areas. Both areas were also very relevant. He said these areas also had application in the area of quantum computing. The Vice-Chancellor said the university had established a research ecosystem. The students, researchers and teachers were taking research to new heights.
Subject expert Prof Nigel Mesan of Kent University, UK, said all streams of science complemented each other. He said it was important that students should be clear about the fundamentals of science to understand science better. It was the responsibility of educational institutions to first explain the fundamentals to the students so that if needed, the students could find employment for themselves in any industry.
Subject expert Dr.Sugam Kumar, senior scientist from New Delhi, highlighted Accelerator Physics in his lecture.
