Woman dies in gas cylinder explosion

An elderly woman sleeping in a shop died due to a gas cylinder explosion after a fire broke out in the shop located in the grain market in Sohna in the wee hours on Saturday.

After getting information, the police and the fire brigade teams reached the spot. The fire was controlled after a lot of effort and the body was sent for postmortem.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as 70-year-old Kasturi, who had a tea shop in the grain market. She used to sleep in the shop at night. On Saturday, around 2 am, the shop caught fire. After this, there was an explosion due to the cylinder bursting. After hearing a loud explosion, the people sleeping outside the shops in the market came to the spot and informed the police. — OC
