Will remove Kherki Daula toll plaza: Congress leader
Amidst the resentment amongst residents of high-rise societies over getting ignored during election season, Congress candidate from Badshahpur, Vardhan Yadav, presented his ‘new Gurugram revamp plan’, promising to deal with the burning concerns. The RWAs of high-rise societies have been calling candidates to present their plans and answer questions of residents. Addressing the members, Yadav promised the removal of the Kherki Daula toll plaza, which has been a long-pending demand in the area.
“It has been 10 years now that the BJP has befooled you. I guarantee the plaza will be shut within months of my election. This will be the first thing I will do if I am elected. It is unfortunate that to move in one’s own city or district, people have to pay an average of Rs 300. Those working in Delhi or the Cyber Hub have to pay toll to go to work. The vehicular emissions have ruined the air quality here. This is my top agenda,” said Vardhan Yadav. He also promised society members the utilisation of External Development Charges (EDCs) and Infrastructure Development Charges (IDCs).
“The charges have been levied from you for the development of the area and it cannot become a fund for any civic agency. Congress will not only get back the amount, but also utilise it for the development of societies,” added Yadav. Vardhan also promised streamlining of work in the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, which has been cited as the biggest failure by residents.
