In connection with the murder of NRI Mastan Singh in Pehowa, the CIA-2 unit of the Kurukshetra police has arrested four persons, including his wife.

The accused have been identified as Anjali, Vishal, Abhishek and Ravi. They were produced in a court, which sent them to a four-day police remand.

CIA-2 unit incharge Mohan Lal said, “We have arrested four persons, including the wife of the deceased NRI, in connection with the murder case. Mastan got married in March and later, went back to Germany. On September 27, he returned to Pehowa. Mastan’s wife had claimed that they were sleeping in their room when five-six men entered their room, tied her up and killed Mastan. She tried to mislead the family and the police.

However, during investigation, we came to know about her friend Vishal. Mastan used to send money to Anjali from Germany and she used to give the money to Vishal, which he used to buy a vehicle.”

“Anjali was not ready to get married to Mastan as there was a huge age difference between them. While Mastan was around 40 years of age, Anjali was 20 years old. However, she was pressurised for the marriage by her family, following which she and Vishal decided to eliminate Mastan. Vishal involved Ravi and Abhishek, who work as daily wagers, in their plan and on September 30, the accused entered the house with the help of Anjali and they killed Mastan. They took away the DRV, ornaments and some cash to make it look like robbery. The accused have confessed to their crime. During the remand, the weapon and vehicle used in the crime will be recovered,” said the CIA-2 in-charge.
