Sirsa MP and former Union minister Kumari Selja on Saturday said that there was nothing right within the state's BJP government. “It is simmering like a volcano from within, which could erupt at any moment. From the activities so far, it is clear that the hands of the state government will remain tied, while the remote control of governance will be in the hands of the Central government. Whatever button is pressed there, the state government will move accordingly,” she alleged.

Selja said the delay in the formation of the state government and the allocation of departments to ministers indicated an internal struggle among ministers over supremacy and departments that generated revenue.

“Therefore, the Chief Minister is repeatedly making trips to Delhi. There is a game of win and lose among the ministers,” she claimed.

Due to the model code of conduct, and now the delay in department allocation, the state was left to God's mercy. “No one in the government is concerned about the safety of people of the state. This is why a businessman in Jind is being asked for a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The state government is not taking any steps to improve the continuously deteriorating law and order situation, let alone paying attention to it,” she pointed out.

Selja said in the Narnaul grain market, traders and farmers were protesting to ensure that their voices reached the government and to initiate the purchase of paddy. “They claim that there has been no purchase in the market for the past 15 days, while the state government claims that every grain of paddy is being bought. The protest of the traders and farmers is exposing the false claims of the state government.”

Selja said it was the failure of the BJP state government that inflation had risen more in Haryana than in Punjab.

“Inflation in the state is rising at a pace much higher than the national average. Over the past six months, vegetable prices have doubled, while there is a continuous increase in the prices of lentils, fruits, and grains. The BJP government, which has been bankrupting people for the last 10 years, is not concerned about the public. Otherwise, after forming the government for the third time, it would have started making efforts to control inflation,” she added.
