A former CM, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, today alleged that the BJP government was steeped in corruption from "head to toe" as the mining scam of over Rs 2,000 crore had been exposed, in which an entire mountain in Nuh had been devoured by the mining mafia.

“This is the same area where many accidents have taken place due to illegal mining and people have lost their lives. It is here that the mining mafia even killed a DSP, but the government remained in deep slumber,” he said.

“It is clear from this that illegal mining is going on under the protection of the government. Earlier, the scam of illegal mining at Dadam had been exposed. From NGT to the court, and even BJP leaders, it has been accepted that a mining scam worth thousands of crores has taken place at Dadam. The sky-high hills have been turned into the ground. Due to this, half a dozen labourers were crushed to death when the hills collapsed here,” he stated.

Hooda said ever since the BJP came to power, the mining mafia was so fearless that it had caused a lot of destruction in the Yamuna. “So much mining was done in the Yamuna that its course was changed. There is always a danger of floods in the adjoining area,” he said.

“The government should explain why it allowed thousands of crores to go into the pockets of the mining mafia? This entire matter should be investigated by the CBI under the supervision of a high court judge,” he said.
