Despite repeated concerns raised by residents, the issue remains unresolved. The authorities must take immediate action of relocating these cattle to gaushalas and nandigram to ensure road safety.

Govt should plan in advance

On one hand, the state government advises farmers not to panic as it has sufficient stocks of DAP fertilisers, but on ground, the farmers are being harassed in all grain markets across the state. If the government really has sufficient stocks, why it does not plan in advance so that the farmers can comfortably get it in the market.

Lengthy process of compensation

The existing judicial process for land owners to receive the enhanced compensation amount for their acquired land by the District Court, High Court or Supreme Court, after it is deposited in the executing court by the beneficiary department concerned, is lengthy, complicated and cumbersome for the land owners to receive it in their bank accounts online through the treasury. In the process, first the unique ID code of the landowners is generated and then their compensation amount is transferred to their bank accounts through the treasury. It also takes months to generate the unique ID codes of the landowners, update these or correct any kind of error. The Punjab and Haryana High Court is requested that the treasury should not have any role in this process, rather an account should be opened in the name of the District Court in a nationalised bank and arrangements should be made to transfer the compensation amount directly from the court's account to the landowners' accounts immediately after it is deposited in the court.
