Give rebate to senior citizens

I happened to visit Delhi on October 11, for which I boarded an AC bus, plying between Chandigarh and Delhi ISBT, from Ambala Cantt at 8:45 am. As per the version of the conductor, the bus had 52 seats and never got passengers to its full capacity. I am entitled to a senior citizen rebate on a bus which charges a fare of only Rs 110. However, I was shocked as I was charged Rs 335 in this bus. I was denied any concession. A senior citizen feels humiliated when he is either dismounted or has to willingly get down from a bus after knowing its ticket cost. When a bus has sufficient seats, why can’t senior citizens get rebate on fare? Will Saini’s government consider this matter and make available some seats with rebate in AC buses also, at least for travellers for long distance of 200 km? Senior citizens above 70 usually have health-related concerns. As a mark of respect, they deserve such rebates. Gian P Kansal, Ambala City
