FED up with the poor efforts of the civic body in providing and maintaining civic facilities in various parts of the city, residents welfare associations (RWAs) have started making contribution to upgrade and repair public facilities. The RWA of Sector 46 here got a damaged patch of a road repaired in the area after getting financial contributions from residents. The Municipal Corporation had failed to take cognisance of the problem and repair the patch that had been in a damaged state for a year. The state government should disband the civic agencies if they are unable to discharge their duties. Varun Sheokand, Faridabad

Debris alongside roads

AT several locations along roads from Gurugram to Faridabad, heaps of construction and demolition debris, as well as garbage, can be seen piled along the roadside. Instead of properly disposing of this waste in designated landfills, the sanitation staff often find it more convenient to dump it near their work sites. This creates an unsightly mess, which gradually spills onto the roads. The NHAI should penalise those who break rules, and ensure the highways remain free of obstruction. Ramesh Gupta, Gurugram

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
