What our readers say: Poor drainage irks Jagadhari residents
Several sewers in Ansal Town, Sector 20, Jagadhri, have been clogged for the last two months. Even underground area of Ansal Galleria Shopping Complex has been filled with muddy rainwater since the monsoon. Foul smell emanating from this stagnant water causes a lot of inconvenience to passers-by. Besides, the number of dengue cases are increasing by the day. The township had charged hefty amount from colony residents for the sewage treatment plant (STP), but only a 10-kld septic tank has been installed. There is an urgent need to install an STP with a capacity of at least 100-kld. Repeated requests have been made to the maintenance agency for the installation of heavy machinery to drain out rainwater, and conduct house-to-house fogging due to the increased cases of dengue, but to no avail. Sonepat roads in deplorable condition
THE deplorable condition of roads has become a major problem for commuters in Sonepat. The road from Mama Bhanja Chowk to the Vita Dairy plant and from Batra Nursing Home to Kache quarter market is dotted with potholes. Besides, these roads witness frequent traffic jams. The administration should launch a special road repair drive for the convenience of the public. Sandeep Batra, Sonepat
