What our readers say: Bus stand building lies abandoned
About three years ago, when the bus stand building was shifted to a new location, since then, the old bus stand building situated on 12 acres whose current market value is more than Rs 100 crore, is lying abandoned and in dilapidated condition. It is now housed by drug addicts and anti-social elements at night. Most of the grills and windows have been stolen. The government should plan a modern shopping complex with basement parking and office spaces on the first floor so that people can enjoy the shopping experience in a planned complex instead of existing unplanned and crowded markets in the town. —Ramesh Gupta, Narwana
Alcohol use on the rise among youth
Alcohol use has been on the rise among the youth in Yamunanagar these days. This is not only harming them but has also become a problem for others. These alcoholic youngsters usually rent a flat and involve themselves in binge drinking, shouting and misbehaving with neighbours if asked to speak softly. Even the police do not pay attention towards these miscreants and take no action against them. The problem has been on the rise, especially in flats and apartments in Yamunanagar. Hope the responsible bodies do their jobs well and help in maintaining law and order in the city. —Deeksha Rana Vashistha, Yamunanagar
