Kumari Selja, MP from Sirsa, expressed confidence that the Congress party was set to win all 90 seats in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Speaking to the media in Sirsa after campaigning in various constituencies like Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, and Sirsa, she stated that the people were ready to oust the BJP government and bring the Congress to power.

She emphasised that voters were determined to teach the BJP a lesson on October 5 by voting them out after 10 years of suffering under their rule.

When asked about the delay in starting her campaign, Selja clarified that the campaign began only once the candidates were fully prepared. She dismissed any suggestions of her neglecting Sirsa, calling it her “home” and explaining that she had promised to visit the region only after the Assembly elections. She also addressed concerns about some members not yet joining the campaign, assuring that everyone would unite to ensure a collective victory.

On the question of whether she is still in the race for Chief Minister, Selja said such decisions were made by the party leadership after the elections. However, she noted that the atmosphere in the state was overwhelmingly in favour of the Congress, and the large crowds at rallies demonstrated the public’s desire for a change.

Regarding the Congress’s chances in the elections, she reiterated that the party was fighting for victory on all 90 seats and that they were confident of forming a government with a majority. Reflecting on her success in the last Lok Sabha elections, she predicted that the Congress candidates would win by even larger margins this time.

Selja also dismissed the impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rallies, claiming that they had little effect on the ground. She criticised the BJP for failing to address key issues like unemployment, inflation, crime and the drug problem during their 10-year rule.

In conclusion, Selja urged people to vote fearlessly, without being swayed by any temptation or false promises. She assured that Congress would fulfil its promises, unlike the BJP, which had only caused suffering for the people.
