Want a safe environment, say first-time women voters
Youngsters were full of excitement after they cast their votes for the first time to elect members of the Legislative Assembly on Saturday. The first-time voters, especially young girls, wanted a secure and safe atmosphere for women, better job opportunities and better development of their areas from their elected representatives.
“I voted for the betterment of society, safety and better working environment for women,” said Pragati, a first-time voter at a polling station in Sonepat City.
Lavanya of Jeewan Nagar in Sonepat said, “I felt a different kind of excitement of being a responsible citizen. I am going to chose my own government which will bring development and make the town more safe and secure for women”. Shweta, another first-time voter in Ganaur, said, “I voted so that our city gets developed and better jobs are provided to us.”
