Chandigarh, August 16
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda today hit back at CM Nayab Singh Saini, saying, “October Chaar, BJP Haryana Se Bahar (On October 4, BJP will be out of Haryana).”
Earlier in the day, Saini had held a press conference and posed 10 questions to Hooda on his measures for farmers’ welfare during 2005-2014. “The Congress gave loan waiver, electricity bill waiver and MSP to farmers, but the BJP gave them lathis and bullets,” Hooda retorted.

The state is going to polls on October 1 and counting is scheduled for October 4. “We are thankful to Election Commission of India for announcing the polls. People of the state are waiting to uproot the BJP from Haryana,” he said.
Holding a press conference along with party state president Udai Bhan, he said, “As soon as the government is formed, 1 lakh permanent recruitments will be made within a year. We will give Rs 6,000 pension to the elderly, Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to employees, gas cylinder at Rs 500, and 300 units of free electricity.” He added, “Soon the party’s manifesto will be released which will have a complete roadmap for five years.”
“This government (BJP government) spent the entire 10 years in corruption-causing portal schemes like Property ID, Family ID, Meri Fasal Mera Byora. That is why today, instead of counting its own works, the ruling BJP is asking questions from the Congress. On October 1, the public will answer all the questions with the blow of votes,” he stated.
Udai Bhan said: “The Congress is fully prepared for the elections. The people have made up their mind to overthrow the corrupt rule of the BJP.”
Replying to questions, Hooda said, “During the Congress tenure, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Panchkula, National Institute of Design in Kurukshetra, Kalpana Chawla Medical College in Karnal, Bhagat Phool Singh University for Women in Sonipat, IIT Extension Centre and National Institute of Food Technology were established.”
“But the BJP could not implement even a single such scheme in Haryana in the entire 10 years. The Congress brought 81 km long metro in Haryana but BJP did not take it forward even an inch,” he said.
