Haryana's energy, transport, and labour minister, Anil Vij, today flagged off a high-pressure jetting-cum-suction hydraulic sewer-cleaning machine in Ambala Cantonment.

The machine, worth around Rs 46.50 lakh, is equipped with a jetting tank capacity of 6,500 litres and a suction tank capacity of 3,500 litres. It was dedicated to the people of Ambala Cantonment to enhance public convenience.

As per the information available, the minister was receiving repeated complaints related to sewerage and drains being clogged and dirty, following which he had ordered the officials concerned to purchase the machine.

On this occasion, Vij said the advanced machine was capable of performing both jetting and suction tasks efficiently. Its compact size allowed it to navigate in narrow streets for seamless cleaning operations.

He further said that the vehicle would address issues related to blocked sewers in Ambala Cantonment. Previously, separate machines were used for jetting and suction, but this combined unit will handle both functions and is capable of accessing even the smallest lanes to clean sewers. The machine can handle up to 10,000 litres of cleaning operations, with a pressure capacity of 2,200 PSI. It is specifically designed for the sewer-cleaning needs of areas such as Ambala Sadar.
