Vihan Kamboj, a Class-VI student of New Happy Public School, Yamunanagar, has brought laurels to his institution and the district by winning a bronze medal at the North Zone Boxing Competition.

The competition was organised by the CBSE, where Vihan participated in the under-14 category in the 34-36 kg weight division.

Around 500 students from various schools across Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh participated in this event.

The competition was recently held at DPS Bahadurgarh in Haryana.

Vihan showcased exceptional skills, winning four matches against players from Jind, Rohtak and Panipat, securing his spot in the semifinals.

In the semifinals, he delivered a commendable performance against a player from Ambala district and earned a bronze medal, securing his place in the trials for the national-level boxing competition.

School Principal Bindu Sharma praised Vihan for his remarkable achievement, stating, “Vihan has achieved this success through his hard work and dedication. His medal is a matter of pride for both the school and the district. We are confident that he will showcase his talent at the national level and reach even greater heights.”

The school’s Chairman, GS Sharma, also lauded Vihan’s feat.
