A three-party agreement was signed among Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra Development Board and ISKCON Temple, Kurukshetra, for the holistic growth of students and faculty through the values and principles of the Bhagwad Gita.
The MoU was signed by Registrar Prof Sanjeev Sharma on behalf of the university, honorary secretary Upender Singhal on behalf of the KDB and ISKCON chief Sakshi Gopal Maharaj on behalf of the ISKCON temple, Kurukshetra.
KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said under the MoU, practical knowledge of Indian Vedic culture would be given to students by ISKCON temple, Kurukshetra. The aim of the MoU was to empower students with the knowledge of the Gita, promote emotional resilience, self-awareness and strategies for maintaining positive mental well-being.
ISKCON vice-president Mohan Gaurchandra Prabhuji said ISKCON would play a leading role in organising and implementing the International Gita Olympiad. ISKCON would provide faculty and training material to conduct Gita courses, including meditation in online and offline modes, as well as other educational programmes related to the International Gita Olympiad.
Upender Singhal said the purpose of the MoU was to spread the glory of the Gita to national and international audience.
