Uttarakhand to adopt online teachers' transfer policy of state
Chandigarh, June 13
Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar held a joint press conference with Uttarakhand Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat here today.
During the conference, Gujjar said the education policy of Haryana was being appreciated across the country, adding that delegates of other states were visiting Haryana to understand the policy in depth and planning to implement it in their state.
He said a delegation, led by Uttarakhand’s Education Minister, visited Haryana to understand the nuances of the state’s education policy along with the Online Teachers’ Transfer Policy. “Uttrakhand is facing several challenges in the deployment of teachers due to its hilly terrain. By adopting Haryana’s policy, they will also be able to provide teachers in schools in a judicious way,” Gujjar said.
Rawat said the state’s transfer policy was highly commendable.
“Analysing the nuances of the policy, we have taken the decision to implement the same in Uttarakhand by 2023. It is a matter of surprise that 93 per cent teachers in Haryana are satisfied through this online policy, which clearly states how well the policy is drafted,” he added.
Gujjar said under this policy, one lakh teachers had been transferred to date.
