While participating in a discussion on the Constitution on Saturday, Congress MP Kumari Selja reminded Parliament that while BR Ambedkar's contribution was lauded, the nation's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's role could not be forgotten for setting up the Constituent Assembly.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the Sirsa MP took a jibe at the ruling BJP, saying that the discussion on the Constitution should not be reduced to mere tokenism, when on a daily basis it's principles were being demolished.

She asked why the ruling party had a problem with caste census, when the exercise would only help identify the actual status of the poor in the country.
