Unauthorised structures razed along Gurugram road
An anti-encroachment drive was carried out by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Wednesday, in which illegal permanent structures along Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) were demolished. This was second such anti-encroachment drive carried out by the GMDA along the SPR in this week.
GMDA officials said the Haryana Government had awarded alternative plots to the owners whose land had come under the alignment of the road when the demarcation of SPR was carried out some years ago.
Despite being given possession, the owners continued occupying the land for the last two years and permanent constructions in Rambir Ki Dhani on the main road along SPR were not demolished by occupants. Ten huge permanent illegal structures were razed along the 12-km stretch of the road, an official said.
