The local police have recovered three cows that were being transported illegally in a vehicle. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the case, which has been officially registered.

A spokesperson for the district police said the two persons, identified as Ramu Yadav and Anik Pal, both from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested after the police intercepted a mini commercial vehicle on the KGP Expressway on October 14.

Upon inspection, three cows with their mouths tied in an inhumane manner were found in the vehicle. The police impounded the vehicle and sent the recovered cattle to a cow shelter.
