A special team from the cybercrime police station has arrested two individuals from Delhi in connection with a Rs 17 lakh cyber fraud. Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan identified the accused as Anil Kumar from Sangam Vihar, New Delhi, and Deepak from New Ashok Vihar, Delhi. Both suspects have been sent to two-day remand to aid the investigation. The fraud involved duping Mahendra, a resident of Sherpura, Sirsa, by promising high returns on a fake insurance policy between January and June, resulting in a loss of Rs 17.61 lakh. A case was registered at the cybercrime police station in Sirsa, based on Mahendra’s complaint.The police said further probe was underway to recover the stolen amount and identify others involved in the scam.
