An LPG cylinder exploded in a house on Monday morning, around 4 a.m. in Cheeka village here, resulting in the deaths of 2 girls and injuries to 3 family members. The explosion caused significant damage to the house and nearby buildings, with cracks forming in surrounding structures. Among the two killed, were a fifteen-year-old and a two-year-old.

They were initially taken to the government hospital in Guhla, but due to the severity of their injuries, they were later referred to the government hospital in Patiala. The two girls succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.

The neighbours said the explosion shattered windows and damaged walls in adjacent houses. Baljit Singh, a neighbour, recounted that the blast was so loud he initially feared it had occurred in his own home.
