Two arrested for Rs 98 lakh cyber fraud in Jaipur
A special team of the Cyber Crime police station has made progress in a major cyber fraud case, arresting two suspects from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan said the suspects had been identified as Chandrabhan of Maujgarh (Abohar), Punjab; and Jatin of Nohar in Rajasthan.
Both suspects were presented before a Sirsa court and have been remanded to two-day police custody for questioning. During this period, the police will interrogate them and attempt to recover the stolen amount.
A complaint related to the case was filed on August 8 at the Sirsa Cyber Crime police station. Miscreants had been tricking individuals into downloading a mobile application named KCL under the pretence of making substantial profits in the stock market.
Victims — including Vishal and Rajendra from Shastri Colony, and Deepak from Rupana village in Sirsa — were defrauded of approximately Rs 98 lakh in June and July. Bhushan said a special team led by Sub-Inspector Subhash Chandra was formed to investigate the case.
The suspects would be thoroughly questioned, and strict legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in the fraud network, he added.
