A gangster from Uttar Pradesh’s Bagpat was killed and two others were injured in a police encounter near Industrial Modern Township (IMT) here late on Tuesday night.

After the encounter, the three were rushed to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, for treatment where Deepak succumbed to his injuries, while the condition of two others, identified as Rahul, alias Baba of Khidwali village, and Ayush, alias Chhota of Rohtak, is stated to be out of danger. They reportedly suffered bullet injuries in their legs, said sources.

“Deepak was carrying a cash reward, while Rahul is the main accused in the triple murder case that was carried out on the Sonepat Road near Baliyana village on September 19 where three youth were shot dead by a group of assailants at a liquor shop,” the sources added.

“On seeing the police, the miscreants opened fire at the cops who also retaliated. All the three miscreants got injured in the cross-fires, following which the police arrested them and took them to the PGIMS for treatment,” claimed the sources.
