Treat poor patients sincerely, PGI Director to medicos
Rohtak PGIMS Director Dr SK Singhal has exhorted medical students and young doctors to treat the poor patients with sincerity.
Dr Singhal was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the fourth batch of Bio-Ethics course being conducted by Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences for the postgraduate students of the institute under the guidelines of the National Medical Commission.
The Director inaugurated the course along with the UHS Dean (Academic Affairs) Dr Dhruv Chaudhary by lighting the lamp.
Congratulating the postgraduate students for attending the course, Dr Singhal said they should consider themselves fortunate for getting the opportunity to serve the poor. “We should follow the medical ethics with full commitment and always maintain patient confidentiality,” he added.
The Director maintained that the patients should always be informed about their treatment and all options available.
Dr Savita Verma, Dr Kamal Singh and Dr Jitender Jakhar also addressed the students.
Course Coordinator Dr Aarti said the underlying idea for the exercise was to inspire the postgraduate students to improve the quality of health services and make them realise their responsibility.
