Transport authority starts drive to reduce accidents

The Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Yamunanagar, has started a special drive to reduce road accidents during the foggy season.

On the directions of DC Capt Manoj Kumar, officials of the RTA are making drivers aware about careful driving, putting reflector tapes on vehicles and issuing instructions to drivers to drive under-loaded vehicles. Inspector of RTA, Yamunanagar, Vikas Yadav said that vehicles were not visible in the absence of reflector tapes in the foggy season causing a number of road accidents.

“The Regional Transport Authority, Yamunanagar, has started a special drive to avert road accidents during the foggy season. Two teams of the RTA have started putting reflector tapes on the vehicles,” said Inspector Vikas Yadav. He said the stray cattle roaming on the roads were also being made to wear reflector belts so that the possibility of accidents was minimized by stray cattle on the roads. He also appealed to the drivers to drive the vehicles within the speed limit,
