Tight security in place at counting venue in Hisar
The Hisar police have made tight security arrangements to ensure fair and peaceful counting of votes for the Assembly elections tomorrow. The counting of votes for seven Assembly constituencies of Hisar district will start at 8 am at Mahavir Stadium and adjoining Panchayat Bhawan and Suvidha Kendra.
Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan said tight security arrangements had been put in place at the counting venue. “Adequate police force has been deployed at each counting centre along with supervisory officers. Also, a reserve police force has been deployed. There will be two layers of security at the counting centres,” he said.
The police force has been deployed at the main gate of Mahavir Stadium, Panchayat Bhawan and the gate in front of Suvidha Kendra. “There will be a thorough checking of every visitor at the venue of counting of votes. No person will enter Mahavir Stadium without being searched. Mobile phone, pen, bidi-cigarette, matchbox, watch, bag, ring, bracelet, blade, knife, weapon, liquid substance and any other item will not be allowed inside the counting centres. Only the candidates or their agents can enter the counting centres. Entry of all vehicles except official vehicles has been prohibited at the venue,” he said.
The district administration has also set up a media centre at the Bal Bhawan for media personnel during the counting of votes. The SP said instructions had also been issued to the DSP (Traffic), Traffic Police SHO and police station in-charge concerned to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the day of counting.
For smooth functioning, the road from Rani Laxmibai Chowk to Sharma Nursing Home Chowk, Jindal Tower to Malik Chowk has been closed from 5 am to 5 pm tomorrow. Parking arrangements have been made at the Government College ground during the counting of votes. The entry to Government College ground has been made from Rajgarh Road. A company of the police force, including that of a DSP, has been deployed to maintain law and order on the day of counting. Unauthorised persons and vehicles will be kept away from the counting centre, the police spokesperson said.
