Terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International’s role in a ‘crude bomb’ attack on a Gurugram bar in the Sector 29 market here has come to light. This was revealed during the interrogation of an accused who was arrested red-handed while hurling crude bombs outside the bar, said a police official.

During interrogation, the accused, Sachin Taliyan (27), a native of Chhur village located in Sardhana tehsil of Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh, revealed that he was a henchman of designated terrorist Satwinder Singh, alias Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar. The police on Wednesday produced Sachin Taliyan before a court, which sent him to seven-day police remand for further questioning.

It is mentioned in the FIR that Goldy Brar, close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, works for the BKI. He collects money for the terrorist organisation through extortion and by spreading terror.

It was also revealed that the blast was a new fear tactic for extortion by Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi. In fact, the gangsters want to establish their dominance in Gurugram and Chandigarh by spreading such terror. For this, days after blasts at singer Badshah’s bar in Chandigarh, an explosion was reported outside two nightclubs in Sector 29 here on Tuesday morning.

Police sources said the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had called club operators via WhatsApp about 13 days ago demanding crores in extortion and a stake of up to 30 per cent in the business. After the club operators approached the police, cops had been deployed in the Sector 29 market, said a senior investigating officer.

As per the FIR, a complaint was filed by Head Constable Anil of the crime unit, Sector 17, stating that he was on duty on Tuesday morning at the Sector 29 market. At the same time, there was an explosion on a grey scooter parked in front of Warehouse Club. Later, a person was seen running and hurling a bomb on the board of Human Club. It led to a panic in the market.

The suspect, who was carrying a yellow and blue striped bag, was overpowered by the police. A country-made weapon, two ‘crude bombs’ and a mobile phone were recovered from his possession.

“The accused was saying loudly that he is Goldy Bear’s man. They did not listen to his boss Goldy Brar, and hence had to face consequences,” the head constable said in his complaint.

A case was registered under Sections 15, 16 (1) (B), 18, 38 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Sections 324 (4) and 61 of the BNS, Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substance Act and Section 25 (1) of the Arms Act at the Sector 29 police station.

“Sachin Taliyan is matric pass and is unemployed. He works for Goldy Brar. We are questioning him after taken him into police remand. Further probe is on,” said a senior police officer.
